What if you threw a party and nobody came? Major general insurer Allianz didn’t want to find out! So it asked James Halliday Events to organise its exclusive, annual client relationship building day. The cream of the company’s high value clients attended an unforgettable event that reinforced the market leading position of Allianz and its key brands Hunter and Club Marine; and strengthened relationships with key business partners.
THE CHALLENGE
The Allianz Client Relationship Day is held during the national insurance broking industry’s annual Steadfast Convention. With almost every other insurance company hosting events at Steadfast too, competition to attract the attention of the industry’s top clients is fierce. It takes something special to stand out from the crowd.
OUR SOLUTION
With the 2007 Steadfast Convention being held in Brisbane, we created a buzz around the conference with delegates eager to attend our exclusive event on Moreton Island, a 30 minute boat ride from the Queensland capital.
Our VIP guests took time out from the convention to enjoy activities including jet skiing, parasailing, quad biking, massages and snorkelling around a shipwreck.
After freshening up with luxury items in resort rooms we specially kitted out for the event, it was time to hand-feed the island’s resident wild dolphins at dusk, followed by a sunset dinner and entertainment before cruising back to the mainland.
We didn’t just want our guests to remember the great day they had. They had to remember our client too. So we took every opportunity to reinforce the Allianz group of businesses’ presence, from the branded gift bags and underwater disposable cameras, to the colour scheme in the restaurant. This attention to detail ensured our client would be as memorable as the day’s activities.
THE RESULT
The 2007 Allianz Relationship Building Day promised and delivered an exclusive, fun-filled experience for blue-chip delegates and impressive results for our client, including increased brand recognition.
We successfully positioned the Allianz day as a premier, not-to-be-missed event at this, and future, Steadfast Conventions.
