Leading insurance industry eTrading solutions provider Sunrise Exchange set the bar high when it asked James Halliday Events to design its exhibition stand for the 23rd Annual National Insurance Brokers Association of Australia (NIBA) Convention. The objective? To be named ‘Best Stand’. The result? Mission accomplished. The stand attracted large numbers of delegates, boosting Sunrise Exchange’s profile and providing a valuable way to build client relationships and promote its products and services in a fun environment.
The Challenge
We needed a unique and exciting concept that would reflect the convention’s “Thrive and Jive in 2005″ theme and we had to design and build it to fit a limited space within a tight four week time frame. It had to be fun and functional, with three separate one-on-one consultation areas for Sunrise Exchange staff to interact with key clients.
Our Solution
We went back to the future, creating a custom-built 1950’s diner that combined a celebration of 1950’s culture with cleverly concealed modern day audio-visual and technical equipment.
A breakfast bar, dining table and private booth became the interactive meeting areas. All three spaces were used for informal, small group consultation with the booth area specifically catering for visual demonstrations and presentations using a concealed LCD presentation screen in a custom-built 1950’s style juke box.
To maintain authenticity, we researched and sourced cost effective diner-related items and equipment from various suppliers, second hand shops and the internet - including the original diner outfits from the USA that all staff on the stand dressed in.
The Result
We rose to the occasion for Sunrise Exchange, creating a stand that stood out from the crowd, winning the NIBA Best Stand People’s Choice Award.
All other conference goals were achieved. We built a stand - and Sunrise Exchange built its industry profile and business relationships, providing education and consultation on its products and services to clients and prospects in a relaxed, personalised environment.
