With big changes to Australia’s superannuation system looming fast, Westpac turned to JH Events for some big ideas for a seminar series to explain the imminent changes to customers. We devised a super way for Westpac to deliver super information and added value to clients throughout Sydney and regional NSW.
THE CHALLENGE
With the general and business media already reporting widely on changes to super, Westpac needed a way to cut-through the clutter to educate and communicate to clients how the changes could affect them. It needed to deliver the information in a personalised, engaging way that would maximise networking opportunities and reinforce the bank’s commitment to customer service.
OUR SOLUTION
We created an environment that enabled interaction between customers and Westpac staff during each seminar, and encouraged attendees to stay and network afterwards, giving the bank’s financial planners valuable client contact and relationship-building opportunities.
JH Events managed all logistics, including the entire registrations program, venues, catering, audiovisual requirements, scripts and presentation development through to creation of feedback forms and collation of results that provide Westpac with invaluable customer responses and leads.
At each event, we created a personal feel by seating clients at round tables of six with their own financial planner, maximising individual contact and relationship-building opportunities.
To encourage customers to stay to the end, feedback forms included entry into a competition drawn at the conclusion of the event. Additional food and beverages were served at the end of the presentations, creating extended networking opportunities for Westpac and its clients.
THE RESULT
The results, like the topic, were super. Westpac achieved its goals of communicating and building relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
The series created a superb opportunity for Westpac financial planners to engage with an average of 40 to 50 attendees per seminar. In fact, we were so successful in driving seminar attendance, we needed to change the room layout at various events to solve the welcome problem of accommodating an overwhelming number of attendees!
Like any successful organisation, we know happy customers mean repeat business. This super series extended our track record in delivering successful projects for Westpac - it was the third seminar series we have developed and managed for the bank.
